Ambition of this site is to gather and present information about salsa events from all over Slovenija and any other event about Latin American culture, like concerts, festivals, lectures etc. But first of all; we will never run out of tips where to salsa party around here.

Well, it looks that salsa is on the rise in Slovenija. Lately there have been more people attending dance classes and salsa parties then ever before. Most of the salsa dance schools and events are located in Ljubljana. Salsa is also growing on the coast (Izola, Portorož) and there are classes available in Maribor and Celje.

The style that is danced here is the same mixture that you can find all around Europe; Puertorican-NewYork blend with some elements of Cuban. Almost nobody knows how to dance pure Cuban casino style (although some people learn Casino Rueda) and very few can dance salsa on 2.

SALSA PARTIES THIS WEEK :

Wednesday - LJUBLJANA - Salsa in bar "Sputnik" (Tržaška cesta).
Salsa every Wednesday from 21.00 - 01.00.

Thursday -PORTOROŽ - Salsa in bar "Paprika".
Every Thursday. Free entrance.

Thursday - LJUBLJANA - Salsa in bar "Kavarna 8".
(Kavadraska c. 5, Spar mall) Every thursday from 22:00.

Thursday - MARIBOR - Salsa in center "JAM".
(Miklavčeva ul. 7 ) Every Thursday. Free entrance.

Friday - LJUBLJANA - Salsa in "Kavarna Sem".
(Metelkova 2) Party every friday at 21.00 in the bar of "Etnografski muzej". Free entrance.

Friday - KOPER - Salsa in "Casa de la Musica".
(Cesta Zore Perello, godina 2) Every friday salsa Cuban Party from 21:30. Free entrance.

Saturday - Ljubljana - Salsa in "Bolero".
(Dunajska cesta, Astra ) Salsa party every first, second and third Satruday in the month salsa. From 22:00 - 03:00. Entrance: 5 €.

SALSA COURSES

Listed below are dance schools, that have been teaching salsa continuisly for some years. There are also some others, that offer salsa from time to time and some individial salsa teachers, who move their classes around different location.

LJUBLJANA :

Salsa Slovenija - offers only salsa classes in the dance studio at Celovška 134b in Ljubljana.

Salsa Libre Academia, Štihova 5 - Also offers only salsa calsses.

IZOLA :

Plesni klub Soy Cubano- Run by Cubans who also organize weekly salsa parties. Only salsa classes.

MARIBOR :

Plesna šola Latino Dimenzija- New dance school that offers all kinds of classes as well as salsa classes. More or less LA stlye.
